Why Was the Blacklist Cancelled?
The Blacklist was not cancelled per se, but rather ended by the decision of the creators and the network. “The Blacklist proved to be a perfect combination of highly talented producers, stellar writing, a cast that never failed to deliver, and a crew that always rose to the occasion”, according to Lisa Katz, president of scripted content of NBC Universal Television and Streaming.
However, James Spader, who also serves as an executive producer, said that the show had run its course and that if it went beyond season 10, it would turn into a very different show. He also said that the team behind the series never created a roadmap for the show, suggesting that the show would likely become less recognizable if it continued past season 10.
